A Space where you don`t have to hide parts of yourself

Can I be fully myself and still be loved?
There can be something deeply tiring about having to wonder whether it is safe to be fully yourself.
Sometimes it is obvious — hiding a relationship, choosing carefully who you tell, anticipating judgement or rejection.
And sometimes it is much quieter. Reading people's reactions. Changing the way you speak. Making parts of yourself smaller. Wondering whether you`re too much, somehow different, or difficult to understand.
Over time, we can become so accustomed to adapting that we don't always notice how much of ourselves we have learned to hold back. Here you don`t have to.

WHEN BELONGING FEELS UNCERTAIN
For many queer people, experiences of being different, misunderstood or unseen can touch something very deep: our sense of belonging.
Even when life around us becomes more accepting, the experiences we carry don't necessarily disappear with it.
hey can find their way into our relationships, our bodies, our self-worth and the ways we protect ourselves from being hurt.
Sometimes as anxiety or shame. Sometimes as people-pleasing or constantly questioning yourself. Sometimes as keeping people at a distance — or holding very tightly when connection finally feels possible. And sometimes as a feeling that is much harder to name - that somewhere along the way, you become disconnected from yourself.
And sometimes beneath all of this is something very tender:
the longing to love and be loved without having to abandon ourselves in the process.
To be fully ourselves and still belong.
YOUR STORY MATTERS
"Can you really see me
and still stay?"

THIS IS PERSONAL TO ME, TOO
My connection with the LGBTQ+ community began long before my work as a psychotherapist.
I was one of the founders of LGBTI+ Gozo, the first LGBTQ+ organisation in Gozo, Malta. Together with others in the community and organisations across Malta, we advocated for greater visibility, equality and recognition — including being part of the wider movement for marriage equality, which became law in Malta in 2017.
That chapter of my life taught me a great deal about courage, belonging and what becomes possible when people find one another and refuse to remain invisible. But becoming a psychotherapist has taken me somewhere deeper. Because laws can change while something inside us may still carry the years that came before them. The fear. The shame. The hiding. The longing to belong.
Social change matters. And so does what happens within us.

If you come to therapy with me, I won't assume that being LGBTQ+ is what you need to talk about.
You might want to talk about your childhood. Your relationship. A breakup. Anxiety. Trauma. Loneliness. Family. Identity. The person you can't seem to let go of. Or perhaps there is simply something within you that you are trying to understand.
Your sexuality or gender may be an important part of who you are, but it does not have to become the explanation for everything.
And when those parts of your identity do matter, there is space for them here too. Without judgement. Without assumptions. Without needing to translate yourself into something more comfortable for somebody else.
You are a whole person
"All of you is welcome here"
YOU DON`T HAVE TO OVER-EXPLAIN YOURSELF HERE

I warmly welcome you to a place where we slowly come to know the parts of you that learned to protect themselves — and make more space for who you really are underneath.
A space where you can be seen, met and still belong.
